Changing field type to picture
I am trying to draw in certain images from our database source. Some labels will have them and others will not. When I follow the instructions using the 'get file name from database field' route, then put in the field name of the database, the picture will not populate. I'm guessing it's because on the database file it's labeled as text and not picture, but can't find a way to change that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like you are just getting the file name from one of the fields in the database. If this is the case I would suggest you use the Get File Name from Data Source option, configure the path to where the images are actually stored and then adjust the field name in the Data Source itself to the field that has the label name. If the name is just the name of the file and does not include the file extension, then you will need to use the Transforms > Suffix option and add the dot and extension there (ie .jpg) .

That works, however, we have six printers and multiple licenses. If it's pulling directly from my computer, won't that make it so other locations won't have that image?

If you map a shared network drive on all the PCs so they have the same reference (all the Z: drive for example) then save the images there then you can configure the path so that BarTender can "find" the labels no matter which PC they are printed from.
You could possibly have something like this already setup if your database is on the network and all the users link to that
