Customize printing template
Hi all,
I created 2 label design/template (for top and bottom part). It got running number. 4 label (with 4 serials) for top side and 1 for bottom side (bottom side serial will take last top side serial number). Example if top side label been print out with serial 001,002,003,004, then the bottom side will print out 004 at the last print. This is currently what I do and using bartender standard features. But this will takes time as user need to print 4 pieces at a time (to activate the bottom template) instead hundreds of printing at a time.
So is there any way to improve it? Basically I want user to be able to continuously print out hundred of label with every 4 serials (top side) will print out 1 serial (for bottom side).
Please advise.
Thank you

Are both the top and bottom labels identical in size or it the label designed to include 4 small and one large label?

Hi Peter,
The size are identical, differences only on label wording that stated which is 'bottom' and which is 'top'. Currently, what I do is create 2 templates (top and bottom). Then, when user print 4 pieces per job, the bottom label will be print out and follow last running number of top side.

You are almost there!
Instead of as an End of Job Template, add it as a 2nd Primary Template and use the Print When option to control when it prints.
As I assume your numbering does not go 1 to 4 and the repeats but counts up from there, then you will need to add a new field on your main template (off the side of the label so it does not print) that counts from 1 to 4 and then resets to 1 again and link the Print When for the secondary template to this when that counter reaches 4

Is it like above?
If I need to print 200 label (top) and every 4 label running number printed (top), 1 bottom label printed, would it work that way? currently if I print 200 pieces at a time, then the end of print job only it print template 2 (bottom). Is there any setting that can count by number of printed label? because the running number will be continuous until 99999.
Please advise.

For ease I used the Change Data Source Name button and called the sequential field LastNumber and the 1-4 field (that should be off the side of the label really) TheCount.
The I adjusted the Print When for template 2 to Conditionally, based on expression and used
TheCount Equals 4
Which then gave me this:

Hi Peter,
For template 1 data source name you put 'LastNumber', while template 2 is 'TheCount'? your end result is what I wanted, but kind of loss in the middle on the settings.
Please advise.

As from the post above "For ease I used the Change Data Source Name button and called the sequential field LastNumber and the 1-4 field (that should be off the side of the label really) TheCount."
LastNumber is the field that is highlighted on the image ie the 0000X number, I Named to make it easier to reference on Template2. TheCount is the rolling 1-4 sequential field

Hi Peter,
Correct me if I am wrong, so the counter 1,2,3 and 4 is actually a counter and reset to 1 when it reach 4? I should put it outside from the label, right?
Please advise.
Thank you.

Yes, as I mentioned above. Dragging it off the is the easiest way or you could just make the field Print When = Never
