Action insert database record into excel fails

If I try to to add can action to insert a record in my database, database type and connection report Not Setup even though I have a database connected. If I try to follow Database Connection Setup ... there is no Excel file option. I tried ODBC connection, user or system datasource as Excel, I get the following error:

ERROR [IM006 [Microsoft](ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's
SQLSetconnectAttr failed

  Thank you for reaching us via our Community Forums.
  
  This issue could be related to different bit versions. Does your BarTender software share the same bit version as Microsoft Office, could you please attach some screenshots to verify this?
  
  Also, what BarTender version, edition, and service release are you currently on? You can find this information by navigating to the "Help > About" tab on BarTender Designer's upper menu.

  Have you solved the issue? I have exactly the same problem but I changed BT back to BT21 32bit so its in line with office 365 32 bit. But still this error comes up.
