    If you're experiencing issues with the installation of the 30-day trial version of Bartender software, there are a few steps you can try to resolve the problem:

    • Restart your computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can help resolve temporary glitches or conflicts that may be affecting the installation process.

    • Disable antivirus software: Is your machine currently running some antivirus software? If so, your antivirus software may be interfering with the installation. Temporarily disable it before attempting to install Bartender again.

    • Check system requirements: Ensure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements for Bartender. Check the software's official website or documentation for the specific requirements.

    • Download the installer again: The installer file may have been corrupted during the download process. Try downloading it again from the official website to ensure you have a complete and intact installer file.

    • Run the installer as administrator: Right-click on the installer file and select "Run as administrator" to ensure that you have the necessary permissions to install the software.

    • Try a different installation location: If you're installing the software in a specific directory, try selecting a different location during the installation process to see if it resolves the issue.

    Hi Xabier,

    Your response is insufficient in resolving and being directly applicable to the issue.

    Trying to open the wizard with a Windows update will prevent me from proceeding, so after updating and restarting my computer, I face the aforementioned issue, "Extracting the main application files.." doesn't progress.

    Reinstalling the setup installer results in the same issue. On https://portal.seagullscientific.com/downloads/bartender/, the download for both the 30-day trial and Bartender 2022 are the same file; is this intentional?

    Running the installer as an administrator results in the same issue.

    The last point in trying a different installation location is completely irrelevant, as the first popup upon opening the .exe setup results in "Extracting the main application files.." and doesn't proceed to the next window to choose a directory.

    Can you provide the minimum system requirements for Bartender 2022?

    I'm sorry to hear my recommendations were insufficient. Regarding your questions, you can find BarTender 2022's System Requirements here, and yes, our 30 day trial version is for the latest version of our software, which is currently BarTender 2022. 

    Also, did this machine have other previous versions of BarTender installed? If so, we would recommend removing the application using the Windows Troubleshooter and following our article on Uninstalling BarTender before trying to install BarTender.
