License
Hello,
I have recently replace the old panel (HMI) on my client site. The old panel had enterprise automation license. I manged to got the license from windows register file. I have manged to deactivate the current license on the old panle and I'd like to activate the new license on new HMI panel. At this moment the new HMI working on 30-day trail license key which was require to run production , however at this stage of commissioning I need to put new license back and deactivate the 30-day trail license as the system is tested.
My concern is that once I will do that the old license won't work (no valid key or any there reason). Is there any way to check if the license key I have can be successfully activated on my new HMI panel. The production can be down for very short period of time and only during the weekend. What would be the safest approach here ?
I am using 2016 R9 on the new HMI and they had 2016 R44 Due to legacy nature of the system I wanted to keep 2016 version.
I would appreciate your help.
Kind regards,
Tom

I am assuming you are using a BarTender 2016 Trial Code and not a current version code as 2016 installs will not "talk" to 2019-22 licences.
As a test you could activate the old licence on a different server and PC and configure one of the work stations to use that licence rather than the Trial and see if that works. If it does you could then deactivate both and reactivate the full licence in the correct location. You may need to speak to Seagull Technical Support first however to ask them to reset the activation count flag setting as you can only install and activate the software a set number of times without manual intervention on their part.
