Silent Install Options
You can setup alerts via the "Administer>Alerts Setup" menu item in License Server and the various BarTender clients. Select only those messages that are important enough to warrant an email alert. This is a computer/application level setting.
Alert setup is mentioned in the below white paper:
I understand that you can set it on the application, this means for every silent install I push down I then have to open up Bartender and set it to email the admin. My question was can this be done through the silent Install?0
Not supported in the silent install command line yet, but I'm looking into a workaround for you.0
would the "/q" suffix work for the "DriverWizard.exe" as well? Any workaround for silent installation of the driver only?0
In the DriverWizard Help you will find information on the supported command lines for automation driver installation. I paste it below but the formatting is a bit bad:
DriverWizard.exe install /name:"Printer Name" /model:"Driver Name" /default /share:"Share Name" /port:"LPT1"
DriverWizard.exe install /autodetect
name of the printer. (This is the "friendly" name shown in
the Printers Folder.)
name of the driver.
will set the printer as the default printer.
will set the printer as a shared printer with the specified name.
port the printer is connected to.
will look for any PnP printers that were recently connected and install the
DriverWizard.exe remove /printer:"Name of Printer"
DriverWizard.exe remove /driver:"Name of Driver"
DriverWizard.exe remove /all /driver
DriverWizard.exe remove /all /driver:"Name of Printer Manufacturer"
DriverWizard.exe remove /monitor:"Name of Monitor"
DriverWizard.exe remove /file:"Name of File"
a printer. This is the "friendly" name displayed in the
a printer driver. (The driver will only be removed if there are no
printers using the driver.)
a language monitor or port monitor.
a file. The full path name must be specified.
The /all option
Only works with /driver.
It will remove all drivers and associated printer and file from the system.
Specifying a Printer Manufacturer will remove all printers and drivers of that manufacturer only.
DriverWizard will execute the specified command file. A command file is a text file containing commands defined above.0
By the way, I believe the Alert Setup configuration is stored in the "Messages.btm" file found in the "C:\ProgramData\Seagull\BarTender" folder.0
Thank you very much!0
When I try to run DriverWizard.exe install, I am propted to reboot the computer. Is there a way we can run the install from command line without having to reboot? I am trying to install the datamax-o'neil_7.3.4 drivers.
This normally indicates that a driver component was in use at time of the upgrade and so couldn't be upgraded until a reboot releases the file for upgrading. However, due to a degree of cross version compatibility, you might well find the new installation does in fact work properly even without a reboot, although a reboot is recommended to be done at your earliest convenience.0
