Bartender System Database Setup
Hello I'm Daniel.
I have recently installed Bartender 10.0 on my computer dedicated to barcoding,
Previous to this i used the latest version of bartender, and bought the wrong activation key.... so had to use the older one.
Since doing this i have had to remake all my templates, which is fine this didnt take long, however i am unable to link my SQL database, when ever i try it give me this error.
"in order to run bartender system database setup the windows bartender system service must be running on XXX-XXX"
I have looked through the forum and seen peoples troubleshooting, and applied them to my scenario however they still fail to work.
See pictures attached, it will show that i have all required software and services. i have also applied numerous Command prompt lines of code, to add the service however i still get the below error.

Thank you.

Make sure that you've specified a logo account for the BarTender System Service. For example on my laptop I specify my user account credentials. Are you trying to create a new BTSDB instance on connect to a DB created with the newer version? If the latter then it won't work as the DB instance created with the newer version won't be compatible with the older version.

Hi Ian,
Thank you for the quick reply.
I am trying to link an existing SQL database that was created outside bartender, and stored on a server. (We had this working with the latest version of bartender)
Would i still need to create a logo account ?
Cheers.

Just to confirm, are you trying to connect to a BarTender System Database, or just a regular database that contains the business data that you wish to print on your labels? It's now unclear to me which you intend.
For SQL Server you can use either Windows credentials or an SQL Server login. Whichever you use from BarTender, the account will need to have adequate permissions in the SQL Server itself otherwise you won't gain access.
