Problem With Database Locking
Hello.
In our company we are using Bartender for many years. We were using older version of this software with excel file where were data entries for print and printing itself is done on webservice. Since we updated software to new version (bartender enterprise 10.1) we encounter problems with getting excel file stuck as beeing used by another user (even when file is shared). This lead us to use more proper database so we developed for this purpose MS Access database where backend file is located on server and users are putting entries trough front end located on their desktops. This solution worked for week but now database reporting that is locked and we can open it for read-only.
Previously we've tried to change template atrributes to have checked only read one. I am not sure if that supposed to help but it didn't.
Now we are in situation we have to restart service or whole server to get file unfreeze which is not the best option.
MS Access database is done in 2010 version. And computers have Win7 system.
Can someone help us with this?

Ordinarily there should not be a problem with this approach. Access allows for multiple users/applications to access the same database/tables/data at the same time which is the whole purpose of a true database. Perhaps you have some other application that is connecting to the database/tables/data in an exclusive mode that puts a lock on it?

Hi Ian,
seems that one of your users changed attribute to exclusive for one of his templates. We reviewed all templates one more time and put attributes to read only. Database is now ok for few last day. Hope it won't change again.
Thanks for your help.
