Error 6670 (External Table Is Not In The Expected Format)

  Not exactly sure about the cause from the error, however if you use Office 2013 or later, Install the latest Office System Driver connectivity Components :

  https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=13255

  Install AccessDatabaseEngine.exe (x86), NOT AccessDatabaseEngine_x64.exe as BarTender (9.x - 10.1) is a 32bit application.

   

  Since office 2013, office doesn't include OLEDB for Access / Excel, which has been used by BarTender and other applications to access Office 2007+ file(accdb, xlsx) as database.

  You need to install that module manually - or you could use Office 2003 files (mdb, xls etc).
