    Hello Simon,

Thank you very much for your post.

About your issue are you displaying the human readable? If yes, is the human readable displaying the data OK? Can you let us know how have you created the serial number? Did you use sub-sgrings? Please if it's possible send us a screenshot in order to see how your serial number has been created. Please also let us know your BarTender build number and which printer model are you using. If you are using Seagull Printer drivers please let us know which version are you using.

    Thanks,

    Carlos

Carlos, thanks, but the human readable is correct, it the actual barcode that is incorrect. I tried to post an attachement but it wouldn't work. I can email you a copy of the screen shot, or, I did send the actual file into the email support this morning. Thanks, Simon

Click the "More Reply Options" button to attach the BTW file.  Note that to attach the file is a multi-step process, so read carefully the instructions.  It's easy to not quite follow them all and thus not make the attachment.

Is the barcode data made up of one data source, or have you split it up into multiple data sources?  I would imagine the latter is the way you would want to go.

It will not attach a file, it does not give an option to use a "multi step process"..

As I mentioned before, I sent an email with the file to the support email address..

    Thanks,

    Simon

    ..not sure what you mean..,

I have one data source, it is a location number used in our warehouse. I input the starting location (01-0545-A), then print off the next 64 locations, increasing in multilpes of 10, the human barcode readable shows the correct increased number, but the actual barcode (the starting location scans correct) but the next 64 locations scan as 01-0545 , but the human readable on the label shows 01-0545-A, 01-0555-A, etc, etc, as does the small numbers under the actual barcode, it shows the correct increasing numbers, but it's the actual barcode that does not read correct when I scan with our RF units..

When you attach a file you first have to choose the file by clicking the "Choose File" button.  Once done you then have to click the "Attach this file" button to actually attach the file to your post.  I assume you neglect to do this last item.

See attached a screen shot of what I mean by multiple data sources in a single object.  Am I correct to assume that only the middle data source is to be serialized.

BTW: Getting your BarTender document file would help me clear this up real quick.

We white list the internet links that people can use in a post to help deter spam.  For example the bartenderbarcodesoftware.com domain is white listed, while photobucket.com is not.

Yes, the prefix and the suffix are to stay the same..

..there is no "Attach this File" button that works, the page says "Done, but with errors on page", so I am guessing that is the resaon why there is no button that works to attach a file.

Like I said in my previous post(s) I sent a copy of the file to the email address listed in technical support, or if someone wants to send me an email (under my user ID) I can send the file in question as opposed to wasting time and effort trying to post the file to this board, which I obviously cannot load from my work terminal…?

We got your email.  Find attached an example of you label format where the data source of the barcode is split into three separate sub-strings, with only the second sub-string incrementing as a serial number.
