Design Using View Showing Full Area Of Actual Label
I would like to know if it is possible to view the full margins and area of the actual label, without going into Print Preview?
I prefer to see a mock-up of the actual label, and then a guide to show me what is printable area, and what is not.
BarTender only shows me the printable area. Is there any reason for this apart from clarity?

Hello hccj,
If the page setup settings are properly configured you should be able to see the "non printable" areas in the previews under the "Page" and "Layout" tabs of the "File>Page Setup..." dialog.
On the design view you'll always see only the printable area.
*Note that on v10.1 we included a feature called "Page Template" that allows you to design in areas outside of the actual label (such as the header or footer) or specify design across several labels inside the same page. For more information please read the below white papers:

hccj - what is the proper configuration in the page setup settings that would allow the actual label to be viewed without going into print preview? - Thank you, Sherry

s.edwards,
Was your question intented to be for Fernando, or to hccj, which was the one posing the original question?
If this is an open question, could you please clarify what you mean exactly? As mentioned in the previous post, BarTender's label design view will present only the printable area of the label. If you want to see the margins, you will need to open the "Page Setup" dialog, but then you won't see the content of the label.

New to Bartender and wondering why when I specify the label size that I cannot use the full viewable area of the label on the screen to create the fields. Have to move everything until it fits on the hard printed label. There must be a setting somewhere. I've tried doing a manually label and choosing something that is close to the side. For example, if I enter in that my label is 1.5x2, the area to put fields in is much less of an area.

Perhaps you're placing text on the unprintable width of the printer. Check this by enabling the "Show Unprintable Region" checkbox under BarTender's "View > View Options > View" dialog.
If the discontinuous lines of the unprintable region fall into the label, this is why part of the text isn't printed. The "Unprintable Width" specs are given by the printer manufacturer, as each printer model has a specific hardware tolerance and it can normally not start to print straight away on the left of the label. If you're dropping with this limitation, place the text out of this unprintable width. You could also try to open the printer properties for this printer under the "Printers & Faxes" dialog in Windows, then go to "Tools > Driver Options > Printer Specifications" and reduce the unprintable width specified there. It might help.

Thank you! I will look at that. Will reply if that doesn't fix my issue.

Didn't work. the unprintable region on the view is my entire label. Checked the printer specs and made the unprintable width .5 and 0 and still didn't work. I'll look through the zebra manual and see if I can find anything in that. very frustrating.

Maybe this will help. I've attached a word doc with a screen shot of the Bartender work area and a screenshot of the label that prints. Notice the far right text doesn't print. Everything else prints on the label, but I would assume that I would be able to design within the work area which non is within an unprintable region.
If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. I have several labels to re- design and don't want to waste a bunch of time trying to get everything to fit on a label that I can't work in the entire area. Thanks!

What resolution does your Zebra printer have? If it's 203 dpi, then you've installed the wrong driver. Please install the Seagull driver for the 203 dpi printer model instead of the 300 dpi you've installed.
If this still doesn't help you to solve the issue, also attach the BarTender document (.btw) to this topic (remove the BarTender document password), and let me know the exact dimensions of the labels you're printing (for the label height, do not count the gap height).
