Print Station 10.1 Only Prints To Default Printer After First Print Job
We are running Print Station 10.1 on Citrix.
Example Scenario:
- User has multiple printers, A (windows default), B (the printer they print labels to) and several others not used for label printing.
- User opens PrintStation and selects a label to print
- Printer A (their default) is pre-selected on the print options screen.
- User chooses B instead and hit print - the label prints to B
- The user selects the same label to print.
- Printer B (the last used printer) is now pre-selected in the print options screen.
- User wants to print to B again so they hit print - this time the label prints to A (their primary)
Workarounds:
- Close and re-open PrintStation between print jobs
- Set the label printer as the default printer in Windows
Have you had other reports of this issue? Neither workaround is ideal for users, they often do lots of printing to their main standard printer and occasional label printing to a labeling only printer.

Yes this sounds like a known issue that is fixed in v10.1 SR2, which will be released in the not too distant future. When available, you'll find SR2 on this page: http://www.bartenderbarcodesoftware.com/label-software/fixes_101.aspx

Perfect, thanks!

Installed SR2, looks like this is fixed.
Unfortunately Print Station still seems to ignore the default printer-tray from the selected printer, so there is no way to manage tray-specific printing from Print Station.
Our attempted work around was to install duplicate versions of each printer but set their default printer-tray to the desired tray (then name the printer accordingly)

Printing preferences are stored as part of the label design, but when switching between printers such setting can get dropped thus reverting you to the printer driver defaults. However, printer driver defaults are normally user account specific, therefore, you would need to define the default settings for the user account as specified for the BarTender System Service, as this is the background process the controls the BarTender process that the Print Station uses.
