After Error In Print Station, Label Format Is Changed
Hi,
We have recently changed over to Bartender, and are having a reoccurring issue happen with our formats. Unfortunately the operators always clear the error before I have a chance to look at it.
It would appear that while trying to print a format from the Print Station, an error screen is shown about the format not matching the label size (thermal transfer on a reel). After they clear the error the label format is then altered to a different page size. When they try to print the label, 3 or 4 blank labels are fed through before printing half the label on one label, and the other half on another label.
I then have to go back into the format and change the format back to the correct label size. I'm not sure why or how the format is changed, or how to stop the Print Station from altering the size of the format? Is there a way to stop the Print Station from altering the label upon getting these errors? Nobody has access to the location of the formats expect me, so I am assuming that Print Station is altering these sizes.
Thanks,

Sounds like someone had attempt to print to different printer - such as A4 laser printer etc.
After print, print station save the document and that would changes page size.
To prevent that, you can disable Printer selection from Print station's Administrative setup > Security.
Another option is make the BTW file to read only, from Windows Explorer's file property.

Thanks,
Considering we have back up printers in case on fails I will try to make the files read only. Will this affect serial numbers though?

Yes - making BarTender document read-only causes serial No cannot be kept after print, as serial number is saved to the document file.
Alternatively you can use Global Variable data source for the serial number, which stored BarTender system database.
You need system database (SQL Server) setup for that.
