Connecting Bartender API from Salesforce
We are looking to connect to Bartender from Salesforce using the Rest API’s provided by Bartender . Below are the approaches we are planning , do let us know if these are feasible from Bartender side.
1st Approach-
- Bartender labels (Having some placeholders in it) along with barcode would be created on the standalone version of Bartender and uploaded into the Bartender cloud server.
- Salesforce system would be connected with Bartender cloud using the Client ID and Client Secret which would be shared by Bartender
- Salesforce system then would pass the parameters for the placeholders of the label stored at Bartender cloud as a JSON format using the API’s exposed by Bartender(The API’s will be specific for our Client to accept the parameters according to our application)
- As a response Bartender would be generating the label by replacing the placeholders with the values sent across the API request and send back to the salesforce system as a 64 Bit /blob file with the generated label
2nd Approach-
- Bartender labels (Having some placeholders in it) along with barcode would be created on the standalone version of Bartender and uploaded into the Bartender cloud server.
- As a response Bartender would replacing the placeholders with the values sent across the API request and print the label to the printers which are configured in the bartender server.
Also apart from the above ,wanted to know on do we need separate license for Cloud version of Bartender. As currently our team is having the on premise version of Bartender.
