Is there a way to insert CDN images into Bartender?

I've seen the article about using internet-based images, but this doesnt work with https extensions. We import images into our PIM through CDN and we are trying to use these images as well for Bartender.

A link would look like:

https://cdn.<<webaddress>>/api/File/47a736b1-9433-4e76-a85b-594da031258d

OR

https://<<local_ip>>/api/File/47a736b1-9433-4e76-a85b-594da031258d

Is there a way?
