I want to suppress print a Warranty expiry date if it is expired 

I went to:

Text Properties/Data Sources/Transforms/Suppression:
Radio Button: Suppression When the following Expression is true:

The formula Needed is :

Database Source-Warranty Expiry Date Filed<= Today

The above did not work, can you please advise how to deal with such date expresions
