Updating to 11.4 on single server?

I assume that quite a few people run the License Server and BarTender Suite (with Print Portal) on the same machine?

On this page it says to update the License Server to 11.4 you should uninstall the Bartender Suite and then install 11.4.

But on this page, under "I'm Installing BarTender 11.4 Over My Existing Production Environment" it says that you can install 11.4 over your existing installation to update.

What is the correct way to update from 2022 to 11.4 when running that way?
I interpret this as meaning that you need to uninstall 2022 first, to update an all in one server?

  The first page relates to when you are just updating the licence on a system where you only have Administration Console and the Licence running, whilst the 2nd is if both the Licence and BarTender are installed on the same computer/server.

  For me I used the second option and installed 11.4 over the top of 2022 (including Print Portal).

  Hi Joakim,

  You should be able to run the installer for 11.4 without uninstalling 2022 first. I have done this on a several of servers and client PCs now without any major issues.

  If you do run into an issue, running the installer again gives the option to repair the installation, or you can always uninstall, then reinstall the version of your choosing.
