As long as you have an existing Maintenance Agreement you just need to enter your existing Product Key Code when prompted after the install.

Why do we need an existing Maintenance Agreement to enter a Product Key Code we already purchased? I need to reactivate on the same computer and it tells me it is still activated on another computer and I need to deactivate it there. It is the same one computer we have, and I successfully deactivated on this computer to reinstall.

If you have 2016 or an earlier version of the software and have a current Maintenance Agreement then you are eligible to upgrade to the latest version (2019) for free. However if you do not have a Maintenance Agreement then you would need to pay to upgrade (taking advantage of the current Maintenance amnesty promotion usually being the most cost effective way of achieving this).

I don’t want to upgrade per se. just want to get our current license we paid for working.

R4 is the 4th release/build of BarTender 2019.
R6 was released a couple of days ago with a couple of tweaks/bug fixes and some non English language stuff I seem to recall
