How to specify license server (2016 R9)
We have Automation Edition and SLS installed on a Windows 2019 virtual server.
I installed a copy on another server in the same subnet for 'political' reasons, and it found the license server without any problems.
I am mainly working remotely at the moment, so I decided to install a copy of BarTender on my Windows 10 1909 portable. As it's connected by VPN, I was not surprised that it couldn't find the SLS, although I should have full access throught the firewall.
So now I am in demo mode, and I can't find the Administer...License Server option which is mentioned in other posts.
Is there a way to configure the address of SLS in this situation ?

In demo mode that option is not available I do not think.
Make sure you did not install Licence Server on your laptop as that can cause issues trying to connect to a remote licence.

Hi Graham, thank you for your post!
As Pete mentioned, the Administer > License Setup option is not going to be available, if your software is in demo mode; you'll want to activate it against your existing License Server (and as you mentioned, that's going to be a problem).
With BarTender Designer open, click on Help > Activate This Software and use the same product Key you used to activate your License Server - since no License Server was installed, it should activate the software as a Client. Once you've done that, you should be able to access the License Setup option to allow you to test your connection.
Cheers,

Hi Al,
Thanks for your reply, that worked fine (after a long delay while it tried to find the licence server).
Regards,
Graham
