What type of characters can be used as integration variables in BarTender 2019 and later?

Answer

When BarTender 2019 was released, additional functionality was added to integration variables. This causes database field names with non-alphanumeric characters to appear incorrectly when they are automatically mapped to variable names by your integration. To work around this limitation, you must use aliases for any database fields with non-alphanumeric characters.

1. In Integration Builder, go to New Record Detection and click the Database Connection Setup button.
2. Click the Fields tab on the left-hand side.
3. Under Alias, assign alphanumeric names for any database fields that use non-alphanumeric characters.
4. Your integration will now use these aliases instead and your variables will be named correctly.
