Question

Can I disconnect from, stop using, and delete the BarTender System Database?

Answer

Yes, you can stop using the BarTender System Database and delete it from SQL Server.

To remove the connection from Administration Console:

  1. Stop the BarTender System Service
  2. Navigate to C:\ProgramData\Seagull\System\Service
  3. Open config.xml
  4. Delete everything between <ConnectionString> and </ConnectionString>
  5. Change the value of the <SystemDbIsSetup> tag to false
  6. Save the file.
  7. Restart the BarTender System Service.

  3. Open config.xml
  4. Delete everything between <ConnectionString> and </ConnectionString>
  5. Save the file.
  6. Restart the BarTender System Service.

In BarTender 2016, you can optionally uninstall History Explorer, Reprint Console, and Librarian by choosing the Modify option from the Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel.
