Labels Printed through an Integration are Out of Order
Symptom
Labels printing out of order; not printing in the same order as the trigger files that were sent to BarTender.
Environment
BarTender 2016 and later.
Solution
You should be aware of certain settings when trying to print labels in a certain order.
- Check the Scan Method in the File Detection tab. It should be set to Polling Only.
- Check the Multiple File Sort Order section of the File Detection tab. If you have nothing configured here, the order defaults to print by creation time.
- Make sure Immediately execute actions... is selected in the Action Execution section of the Integration tab.
- Enable the Verify the script has been processed... in the Verification Options section of your Actions tab.
You can also check Task Manager to see how many instances of BarTender are currently running at the same time. There should be little room for printing order errors with the above settings enabled.
