Can I import document designs from other software programs?

Unfortunately, there is no tool to convert documents designed in other software packages. Software applications for designing and printing barcode labels vary greatly in terms of features and methods used. The use of closed or proprietary document file formats makes support for any import feature practically impossible.

Instead, we focus on providing BarTender users with powerful document design features, such as Intelligent Templates™, template background images and BarTender components. These features combine to make BarTender the most powerful label design package on the market. To see more about template design in BarTender, visit our getting started page.

Can BarTender create the barcode that I need?

BarTender includes over 400 preformatted, ready-to-use barcode components based on 95 barcode symbologies and more than a dozen barcode standards. It also includes a large number of sample compliance label designs.

You can see a full list of supported barcodes under "Barcode Support" on this page.

Does BarTender integrate with my ERP System and how?

Yes, BarTender can integrate with your ERP system. Through the use of the Integration Platform, BarTender can fulfil the role of being the ERP's bar code / text / RFID label printing engine. Therefore, effectively extending the features and capability of the ERP with a dedicated document design and management system, combined with powerful printing features for rendering highly optimized print jobs in native print language for any make or model of printer. Choose from a wide range of Integration Methods, such as file triggers, web service requests, database triggers, TCP/IP – serial connections.

BarTender also offers a full .NET SDK that allows you to directly control BarTender from other applications. The SDK contains several APIs that allow you to control the BarTender Print Engine, Librarian, and the BarTender System Database.

Can BarTender read from my database?

I have a Bar Tender document that has a database connection to an Access table. It works as designed. When I went to create another document, using the wizard I found that the database in the previous document was not listed in my new document. I had to go through the process of establishing another database connection.

Is there a way to use the database connection across may documents?

I am sure I have done something wrong in that the database connection is not reflected in subsequent documents. Any and all help is appreciated.

Hello, we have two computers each with bartender (older versions 9.x.x and 10.x.) and are using a network drive where we get the files to print from either computer. Each computer has its own printer. My question is: If we were to add a third computer/printer with a newer version of bartender, will we still be able to access those files on the other computers, or they will be only accessible from the newer version bartender?

I have just purchased a label printer and got BarTender 30 day free trial. It has been working well so far but today I ran into some issues. Whenever I try to print out a label, I get the 3408 error code (BarTender Licensing Service is not running on this computer) pop up. I did some research and tried some of the troubleshooting which was recommended on this forum (such as trying to fix it using task manager) however, this did not work for me. Can anyone help?

I see that this is a printer based license. If we were to get a one printer license and the assigned printer dies can we switch to a new printer?
