The Template Assistant will present users with the data source configuration screen:
Using Embedded Static Values
Embedded static values will configure the label to print a single item for all copies of the label.
Configuring the data source consists of the following steps:
- Select the One item option from the data source configuration screen and click Next.
- For each label section, enter the values for the individual data sources and click Next. This process will continue until all sections have been filled in.
The section currently being edited is highlighted in the preview image on the right.
Using Embedded Dynamic Values
Embedded dynamic values will configure the label to print multiple items from a dataset. You can enter your data manually or import it from a comma-separated text document (CSV).
Configuring the data source consists of the following steps:
- Select the Imported data items option from the data source configuration screen.
- Click Next and you will see the field data entry screen:
- A table shows the label data to be embedded in the BTW file.
- In the top-right, a button allows you to display the label template image.
- Import and Export label data using the corresponding buttons. When importing you can either append the imported data to the existing data or replace it.
- Manually add and delete records from the table by:
- Using New to add a data row to the specified location in the table.
- Use Delete to delete any rows selected using the checkbox
- Manually edit, delete or duplicate specific records by using the icons to the right. You can also edit the data directly by clicking on the data fields.
- Finally, click on the vertical ellipsis icon to get additional options such as moving the record up or down.
- Click Next once you have finished editing the data.
