Issues When Using the "Legacy BarTender Formats" Locale
Symptom
Errant behavior when using Clock data sources with the Legacy BarTender Formats locale. For example:
- The data entry form doesn't work when trying to change the data for that clock data source.
- Wrong offset values, such as incorrect or inconsistent text spacing.
Applicable To
BarTender 2019 and later
BarTender labels that were originally designed in BarTender versions 10.1 and earlier
Diagnosis
Regarding labels designed in BarTender 10.1 and earlier, we had two separate data sources for date and time, which were in later versions merged into the newer Clock data source. When using such documents on newer versions of BarTender the "locale" becomes Legacy BarTender Formats for those data sources. The use of this locale seems to be responsible for the unwanted behavior.
Solution
To solve this issue, follow these steps.
- Right-click on the object using the Clock data source and select Properties.
- From the Data Type tab, change the Locale so it doesn't use the Legacy BarTender Formats (for example, Windows Default).
