Error 6241: A Connection to the Database Could Not Be Made
Symptom
When trying to print from BarTender Designer after migrating your BarTender installation to a different computer, you may receive the following error message:
Error message #6241: A connection to the database could not be made due to the following:
The file [file path] could not be opened, read, or accessed. Verify that the path is correct, exists, and has the correct permissions.
Details: Could not find a part of the path [file path].

Solution
Both of these errors mean that the database file is no longer where the BarTender document expects it to be. In order to resolve this issue, reconfigure the connection via the Database Setup Assistant and change the location of the database file to the proper location.
BarTender 2019 and Above
- Click on the Database Connection Setup icon on the toolbar
- Click on the Configure Connection button to reconfigure
