In BarTender 2022 R3, PDF/Electronic Document licensing has been updated. Each printer license is allowed 5,000 printed items for PDF/Electronic Document printing and is now tracked separately from physical printer counts.

For example, if you are licensed for 10 printers, you can print to 10 physical printers as well as 50,000 (10 x 5,000) printed items for PDF/Electronic Document prints per week (7-Day period). Once you have used up all 10 allotted printer licenses, you cannot print to anymore physical printers until a license is freed up. A printer license becomes free if a physical printer is not printed to for a total of 7 days. Similarily, once you print beyond the number of printed items allowed per 7-Day period, you will no longer be able to print PDF/Electronic Documents.

Certain licenses are not allowed to print to PDF/Electronic Documents and will instead print large watermarks over the prints. These are listed as NO in the table below.

**Unlimited prints are only available with an active maintenance agreement. If a maintenance agreement lapses, printed item per license return to 5,000.

In BarTender 2019 and later up until BarTender 2022 R2, you are allotted 2,000 printed items for printing PDF/Electronic Documents per printer license (seat). When you go over 2,000 printed items, another printer seat is taken. If a printer seat isn't used for 7 days, it drops off the list and makes the seat available for use. 

The PDF printer counts occupy a printer license, as physical printers and PDF printers share the same licensing count. This means that if all the licenses are taken up by physical printers, you cannot print to PDF. The reverse is also true.
