Symptom

While attempting to print using BarTender Designer, you may receive the following error message:

Error Message 3420: Current user [Username] has no permission to use the license [license number]. Check the license's access control settings on license server [Servername] and try again. BarTender will not print or export printer code templates until this is corrected.

 BarTender 2019 and later

Solution

This error occurs when the User Access Control setting within BarTender Administration Console has been configured to allow/deny specific user account(s) and the current user account has no access permission to use the license. To fix this issue:

1. Open Administration Console on your license server
2. Go to Licensing->License Setup. Under User Access Control, and make the following changes:
   1. Set Action to Allow.
   2. Set Who to Everyone.
   3. Set From to Everywhere.

3. Click OK Close the Dialog.
4. Click Apply to Save the changes.
