Digimarc - digital watermarking overview
Overview
Digimarcs are used for placing nearly invisible digital watermarks on your labels. A demo of this watermark is now available in BarTender 2022. While not fully featured yet, you can place Digimarcs on your labels for later use when the feature is complete or simply play with it and see how it works.
Applicable to
BarTender 2022 R1 and later
Information
There are two methods to add a Digimarc watermark to your label file depending upon whether or not the Digimarc watermark will be linked with a visible barcode or not.
You can only have one Digimarc on your label at a time. If you wish to replace the current Digimarc, simply select the encoder object off-label and delete it.
Creating a Digimarc with a barcode
To add a Digimarc, simply open the barcode dialog. A Digimarc section has been added, featuring all our currently added Digimarc watermarks, including UPC and GTIN watermarks
When you select a Digimarc from the list, you can place the matching barcode wherever you would like on the label itself. The Digimarc will appear in the label's background. This is purely a visual indicator and will not be visible in the final label.
You can change the settings by double clicking on the watermark icon or right clicking and selecting Properties.
Creating only a Digimarc
On the toolbar, click the encoders icon and select Digimarc from the list
After placing the watermark, the properties dialog pops up for configuring the Digimarc or linking it to a datasource. Once you close the dialog, the Digimarc will appear across the entire label. This mark is purely a visual indicator and will not appear visible on the final label.
You can change the settings by double clicking on the watermark icon or right clicking and selecting Properties.
