Overview

BarTender 2022 introduces SAP HANA as a native database connection. This allows you to connect directly to your SAP HANA database, local or on the cloud, instead of requiring ODBC or passthrough connections. This article will walk you through the basics of setting up your SAP HANA database connection.

Information

To connect to your SAP HANA database, open the Database Connection Dialog and do the following:

1. Select SAP HANA as your database type
   
2. Enter your credentials in the next dialog.
   1. Check the Cloud checkbox if you plan on using a cloud-based server
   2. Note that the table selection is not available on this screen due to SAP's aggressive lockout policy that prevents us from querying the database while authenticating.
      
3. Once you enter your credentials, you can choose the table on the next screen
4. On the next screen, choose your tables to use.
   
5. Click Finish to complete the connection setup.
