With BarTender, the print process is going to be similar with some slight differences. BarTender is still going to be uploading a document to the printer (this actually occurs when you click the print button in BarTender) and printing itself will be trigger from the physical printer usually through some type of sensor.

I would recommend checking the following things:

    1. First, make sure you are using our Seagull printer driver. You download it here: http://www.seagullscientific.com/drivers/printer-driver-features/?m=videojet+2360
    2. During installation, make sure you specify the correct printer port. If you are connecting via TCP/IP connection which it sounds like, then you want to make sure you specify the correct IP address of the printer and port number (this might differ from the default Windows port#9100, you want to consult VideoJet to confirm).
    3. Make sure bidirectional communication is enabled in devices/printers->printer properties->tools tab.
    4. Setting up a BarTender document for these types of printers is pretty simple since most of the printing is controlled by the printer. Once you finish designing your label in BarTender, you want to make sure you are specifying one identical copy to print. You want to set the number of copies to 1 and serial numbers to 2 (if you have serialization or incremental value set in the BarTender document). The reason is you are just uploading the BarTender document to the printer and everything else is controlled directly by the printer. Serial numbers need to be set to 2 if you are using serialization because BarTender only enables printer serial optimization if “serial numbers” is greater than 1. If you specify more than one copy in BarTender to print, you are just uploading the same document multiple times to the printer which you don't want.
    5. Also, note the following about the label design in BarTender:
      • For any object in the BarTender document that contains serialization (incremental value), needs to be using a printer font.
      • Performance optimization for “Allow Serialization” in the BarTender file->print dialog needs to be enabled.
      • For serialization fields in barcodes, you will probably have to change the print method in the barcode properties->symbology and size->print method to the setting "Barcode and human readable text controlled by the printer".

Usually, when print job gets stuck or errors in the Windows print queue, there is usually a communication issue between the system and printer.

You may also want to confirm:

    • The printer has enough memory for new formats to be uploaded.
    • Also, double check there is not a firewall or security blocking.
    • I don't know if you can configure the printer port for that particular printer to use a different port, but you may try using a different printer port in case there is a conflict with another application.
    • As a test to eliminate if it is issue the TCP/IP network connection, you may try connecting the computer system to printer via a direct connection such as serial, lpt, or usb.

I would also suggest contacting VideoJet to see if they have any other suggestions as well.

    Hi,

Thank you for this information. I have a similar question, but in our case, it's Videojet Dataflex 6530 (107mm continues).

Here is what i have done sofar:

    • Downloaded and updated Seagull driver to latest (2025.1) version.
    • IP adress is reachable, also by browser (ending up in the printer's console)
    • Port supposed to be 3001. Also tried 4001 without any luck.
    • Print server logging gives error: The print job 55 was sent via the print processor winprint on printer Videojet DataFlex 6530, driver Videojet DataFlex 6530 (107mm) - Continuous, in isolation mode 1 (0 - loaded in spooler, 1 - loaded in shared sandbox, 2 - loaded in isolated sandbox). The print processor generated the following Win32 error code: 0x3F.
    • Printer has plenty of (internal) space for storage (only 644 kb of 3.6gb used)
    • Contacting Videojet is not great. They only support their own Claricom software, and don't like 3rd party software

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Greetings.
