TEC B-EX6T1-T drive issue from print server
Hi, We have got a TEC B-EX6T1-T with driver 2022.3.0.0 on a print server. Point and print, administrator only print is disabled, standard users should download and install the driver without issue, they do for other printers.. I have started to receive the following issues, could be down to digital signature. has anyone got a resolution for this? Help!
The print spooler failed to download and import the printer driver from \\PRINT1 into the driver store for driver TEC B-EX6T1-T. Error code= 800f0242.
The print spooler failed to import the printer driver that was downloaded from \\PRINT1\print$\x64\PCC\toshibatec.inf_amd64_53d47d5d0fb52294.cab into the driver store for driver TEC B-EX6T1-T. Error code= 800f0242. This can occur if there is a problem with the driver or the digital signature of the driver.

Hello Mark,
Thank you for reaching our Community Support Forums.
Error code 800f0242 typically indicates a problem with the digital signature of the printer driver. To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps:-
Ensure that the printer driver you are trying to install is compatible with the operating system on the print server. Check the manufacturer's website or documentation to verify the compatibility.
-
Make sure that the driver package is not corrupt. Try downloading the driver package again from the manufacturer's website or a trusted source.
-
Check if the digital signature of the driver is valid. You can do this by right-clicking on the driver package file (toshibatec.inf_amd64_53d47d5d0fb52294.cab) and selecting "Properties." In the "Digital Signatures" tab, verify that the signature is valid and from a trusted source.
If the digital signature is not valid, you may need to contact the printer manufacturer for an updated and properly signed driver package. They should be able to provide you with assistance or an updated driver.
-
Ensure that the Windows Update service is running on the print server. Some driver installations rely on Windows Update to download additional files or updates. Restart the Windows Update service if necessary.
-
Temporarily disable any antivirus or security software on the print server. Sometimes, this software can interfere with driver installations. After disabling the antivirus, try installing the printer driver again.
- If the issue persists, try installing the printer driver manually by extracting the contents of the driver package (toshibatec.inf_amd64_53d47d5d0fb52294.cab) and using the "Add Printer" wizard in Windows. Select the extracted driver files during the installation process.
If none of the above steps work, you may need to escalate the issue to the printer manufacturer's support, as they can provide more specific troubleshooting steps based on your specific environment and configuration.
Finally, remember to always create a system restore point or backup before making any significant changes to your system configuration.
