Data originating in excel
Hello.
I am generating a label from a data source in Excel, modifying the SQL statement with GROUP BY over the data read from the xls and printing multiple records on the same label. My idea is to change the file every time I have to print new labels. The only thing that varies is the data and the number of records. But I can't: it loses the connection parameters and doesn't access Excel. Even if I create a database connection with name...
If I restore to the initial xls there is no problem !!!!
Is that behavior normal? What is the use of being able to read data from a file if you can only print THAT file, and not another with the same characteristics but different data?

I answer myself: the problem does not come from the method, but from the excel file that contains new data. If I use it to create a new connection to the database, it shows me the following error: Bartender is not compatible with encrypted Excel files
But it is not encrypted, I can open excel without problem, even if I open it and save with excel then the BTD label is generated correctly!!!

Cant you just use write the data out to the same Excel file, deleting the old contents first then having this saved as a Named Database in your BarTender system?
It sounds like something in your current creation process is causing an issue that BarTender cant resolve and so you need to adjust this.

When I save the excel generated by a third APP, without changes, it is already operational and works. There is something in that creation of excel that fails with BTD 2019 and 2021 but with BTD2022 it does not give problems...
Using named data connection doesn't fix anything.
Thanks for the quick reply.0
