Data Entry

There are a couple of ways to achieve this:

    1. Make a field a Named Data Source and link that to the input box on the Data Entry screen. Then link all the other fields that share this data to the Named Data Source too.
    2. Create one field that is linked to the Data Entry input as normal but then make all the other fields Object Value link to that original Data Source.
    3. Or else use a combination of the two.

For option 1 whatever you do to the Named Source will effect all the other fields too and so if you apply Truncation or a Character Filter, say Numeric only, then this will adjust all the other fields to match, whilst option 2 will not do this and so you can amend the connected fields as you wish. This can be especially useful for GS1 barcodes that contain dates as often the text fields will be in DD MM YYYY type format whilst in the barcode they need to be in YYMMDD.

Use this button to make a field a Named Data Source and after that to link other fields to it

For the bottom field I have set this as an Object Value field and linked it to the Text1 object that is in turn linked to the Data Entry box. I have then set a Transforms>Character Filter>Numeric only to this bottom field as you can see in the 2nd image below

Thanks for the help. I have the data entry working but if I have the data type in the field set to a number, it only limits me to 4 digits. I am trying to print a wire label which sometimes might have a number up to 6 digits. How can I get the application to print more than 4 digits?

    Thanks,

It sounds like the number of characters for the label field has been set to a maximum of 4 and so you will need to adjust this
