You should be able to achieve this although I have found sometimes you have to force the refresh to the spreadsheet for it to pick up the column. I would also suggest you add the new column to the end of the existing ones in the spreadsheet to prevent any mapping issues.

    This works for me:

    • Close the label in BarTender
    • Open the spreadsheet and add the new column and data and then save and close it
    • Reopen the label in BarTender and then click on the Database Setup icon
    • On the new screen press the Database Setup Wizard button and then the Browse button
    • Reselect the database and then press Finish and Ok and the new column should now be available

I had the same question but was using a named database connection.  If you open the named database connection file in a text editor under C:\ProgramData\Seagull\Database Connections\

near the end of the file you'll find "field count=#", you can just change this number to whatever your new number of fields are and they should become available in BarTender Designer when you reopen the label.
