Commander Cannot Launch Bartender

I have an issue with Commander not launching BarTender. The message says that it appears that BarTender is not installed.
I am running Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard and BarTender Enterprise Automation Edition version 9.40 licensed for 3 printers. I downloaded the software from this website and used the trial mode for a period of time and activated it today.
I first noticed the issue during the evaluation period when I tried to start detection after creating and enabling a task. The information in the window wasn't very helpful, but trying to launch BarTender using the launch BarTender shortcut in Commander gave error #6606, saying that BarTender does not appear to be installed. After registering BarTender, nothing changed. I can launch BarTender from my Windows start menu. I tried setting it up to run BarTender from a specified account. I supplied the account with the domain in the format: <domain>\<user name>. I also tried increasing BarTender's desktop heap from 512 kB per process to 4096 kB per process which didn't help.
Can someone help with this?

Hello John,
A few suggestions you can try are:
1. Make sure that BarTender's build is 2781. You can double check this by opening the "Help > About" screen from BarTender.
2. On this computer, close Commander, and now open a prompt dialog (MS-DOS dialog). Do this by accessing "File > Run" in Windows and type [b]cmd[/b] then press Enter.
Browse to the folder where BarTender is installed: "c:\Program Files\Seagull\BarTender Suite" and now write the following command:
bartend.exe /register
3. If you run Commander as an application, do you have the same problem. Switch from Service to Application in Commander via the "Administer > Service Setup" dialog.
4. Fully removing and reinstalling BarTender would be the last option. However, I would give you precise instructions on this.0 -
