Can you give us an example of what is in the XML file? Does it contain data and/or commands on what and where to print, or does it contain Intermec specific print code that would then be merged in some way with the lbx file to result in a fully formed print file?

This latter option uses the Printer Code Template feature of BarTender, where BarTender is used as a label design tool for exporting the label formatting and variable data files (xml and lbx files???), but then is not used at time of print. Instead the generated files are embedded into other computer systems or the printer itself for printing without the need of a Windows computer, let alone BarTender or our printer drivers. The following white paper explains this concept: http://docs.seagullscientific.com/whitepapers/WhitePaper_ExportingPrinterCodeTemplates.pdf

We also offer other Oracle integration possibilities that are more powerful and flexible than the above method. We outline these in the following white paper: http://docs.seagullscientific.com/whitepapers/WhitePaper_IntegrationwithOracleWMSandMSCA.pdf

    Hi Ian,

Thanks for the help and link to White papers.
Our requirement is to print a label from Oracle. Oracle generated the XML file as below.

We are using Intermec Printer to print the label, and this printer requires a .lbx file to be associated with our generated XML file to be able to print Labels.
A sample lbx file we recieved looks like below

This topic is likely a bit to complex for discussion in the forum, so my colleagues in the US will be in touch shortly to go through your requirements.

I know this is a revival of an old topic, but, I require more details on the generation of a .lbx file from Bartender 10.0.  Is there any chance I can get someone to contact from BarTender as my company's Vendors, supervisors, etc, all claim that Bartender can generate a .lbx file... However, any time I attempt to export a file into an lbx, it is a 1kb file. This seems exceptionally small considering that our current lbx files a lot bigger than that.

Jaehea: The lbx file is just the file extension used for the fixed format part of a Printer Code Template (PCT) that is normally uploaded to the printer.  The XML being sent by the Oracle system at print time to the printer, which recalls the stored format, merges the print time date, and then prints.  Your best bet is to contact US tech-support via the contact details provided: http://www.seagullscientific.com/support/technical-support/
