Server 2008 R2 And Datamax I4208 Skipping Label
I am having a similar issue that other users have said where the stock setting is either changing or not being applied properly on a server 2008 r2 for a datamax I 4208 and then i am getting an extra label. Have made many changes, swapped out hardware, put on another server, except uninstalling the driver package from server (which would cause hospital downtime) because you need to remove the printers associated with that driver. Any suggestions on this? I did see a later driver but even that did not work. ON Server 2003 the label prints out fine...Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using BarTender or some other application? Please specify giving details.
Is the Seagull printer driver for the Datamax printer the Windows default printer driver for the Windows PC in question, or is a different printer driver the default? if the latter what type of printer is the other printer? As a test, if you make the Datamax the Windows default printer driver does this avoid the problem?0 -

Again we are not using the Bartender product. We have over 15 print servers running Server 2008 and everytime we try to customize a label-we get extra labels. Which is the preferred method when customizing labels. Do you create a new stock with your dimensions or do you use the User settings and modify that with your label size dimensions? We do NOT have this problem on our Server 2003 print servers. Has there been discussion on possibly updating your current drivers to work with Server 2008? We have a go live scheduled in teh next 2 months and i would really like some guidance if possible...I did see someone suggest in the forums to set your custom lable size and then perform a calibration on your printer... 0 -
Our printer drivers are already fully Windows Server 2008 standard/R2 compatible.
The USER size is a stock slot in the driver that a correctly programmed application, like BarTender, can use to load correct page size dimensions into from the application document in use. As you are not using BarTender I would suggest you go the route of using predefined stock sizes in the printer driver and selecting them for use.
