You probably have print job logging enabled which is not a Professional edition feature. Disable this via the "Administer>Log Setup" menu item.

You might like to know that we have a video on our website that guides you through the process of removing trial features. Find it at the below link:

It works, when disable the checkboxes in menu Administer -> Database Log and Text File Log. And also disable "Trail functions" in the Help menu.

    Thanx

    Hi!

    I have the same problem.
I've already checked the log settings, and disabled the "trial future settings" too, but still getting this message:
"Demonstration mode. BarTender will now run in demo mode where on character per printed bar code or text object will be randomly changed in the print preview and the actual print output", and its really annoying, couse i can't print my label with right characters.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, thx.

Regarding the post from Tushee: What is the edition, version and build of BarTender that you are using? Does the message appear only when you go to print? Is the issue label format specific? For example if you create a new label, create a single "Sample Text" text object and try to print; do you get the same error come up?

Note that if you a using the free Ultra-Lite edition that came with your thermal printer; you will only be able to print to a printer of the same brand.

Im using Bartender Professional v9.01, build:2561.
The message appears with the Sample Text object too. I dont understand how can an issue be label format specific. I tried to change the label size, but its still in demo mode.

Some trial features are application wide, such as the logging of print jobs, while others depend on trial features used in the label design. Have you checked that print job logging is disabled? Have you gone to the "File>Trial Features" menu item to see what trial features are in use in the label format and thus to remove them? Doing this should at least show you the cause of the issue.

I suggest you get in touch with Seagull technical support as I cannot really help much more from the forum. Send along your label formats and screen shots that display the issue.

Been using Bartender Pro 9.3 SP2 for some time, and recently, I'm getting an error message whenever I go to print or preview new/existing labels.
Bartender: Warning message #2625 "Demonstration mode. BarTender will now run in demo mode where on character per printed bar code or text object will be randomly changed in the print preview and the actual print output"

This is a fully piece of licensed software - that basically is halting my designs on new projects, and causing issues on other machines waiting on me to develop a new label format?

    Please advise

Seangly: This means your 30 day trial has expired and it's time to purchase a license if you wish to continue using BarTender.  Contact your local auto-ID reseller, or the Seagull sales department for your region: http://www.bartenderbarcodesoftware.com/label-software/contact_us.aspx

brenda23: BarTender v6.00 is usually activated by a hardware key that plugs into the parallel port of your PC.  Do you have such a device attached to your computer?  Note that this version is not even compatible with Windows XP or higher, so you're likely dealing with an OS incompatibility unless you're running Windows 95, 98, Me, or 2000 which is unlikely these days.

BarTender v6.00 is not compatible with Windows XP.  A major incompatibility is that the software will be unable to detect the key.  Either use and ancient PC running an older Windows OS, or get a new BarTender license.

I have been using Version 9.10 but recently downloaded the trial version. Now that the trial version has expired, I keep getting the warning message." Bartender: Warning message #2625 Demonstration mode.  BarTender will now run in demo mode where on character per printed bar code or text object will be randomly changed in the print preview and the actual print output"

I read the above message but couldn't find "Trail functions" in the Help menu.I did Disable  the "Administer>Log Setup" menu item as well. Nor could I find "File>Trial Features".

How do I remove the trial version so I can use my old version?

    Hello,

Which version of BarTender did you acquire? You will need to activate BarTender using your Product Key Code via "Help" menu > "Activate this software"

You've probably downloaded a copy of BT v10.1 (Trial, non activated Edition). You would need to remove your existing version of BarTender and download BarTender v9.10 instead:

    http://www.seagullscientific.com/label-software/fixes_91.aspx

Once downloaded, activate it using your existing product key code via the Menu dialog indicated by Carlos.

unexpected: If this is an Enterprise/Automation edition, then make sure it is able to find the License Server for printer based licensing.  Make sure that no trial features are in use, I think you'll find this via the "File>Trial Features" menu item.

berlyyy: It sounds like you're using a feature that is not directly supported by the Ultra Lite edition, and this can include a printer make/model other than what the software came with in the box.  If you wish to use the feature, or print to that different printer, then you'll need to purchase a full license from your auto-ID reseller.

    Hi,

I have recently faced the same issue. It seems that this message is also triggered when one uses a feature on the label which is only valid for a higher version.

In my case, I am using a basic version and by copying text from a word document in the label, I apparently use a feature only for the professional edition.

You can check this in Help>Requirements for this edition (real menu text could be slightly different as I am using a Dutch version so I translated to English).

    Hope this helps.
