Bartender will hanp up when trying to complete an ODBC connection. I can test the connection and it comes back ok but as soon as I enter the password to the database it hangs up and shows up as "not responding" on the task manager. I can let it sit for 15+ minutes and nothing changes.

I let it sit and try to connect for over two hours and came back to my work station and it was connected. One the connection is incredibly slow and two the account the DBA set up for me was not properly restricted so I could see all the information that was available. Are there setting in the database connection wizard that will help address some of the speed issues?

I am replying to my own post because an edit just wouldn't do. It turns out that having too many possible views will really slow down bartender. Once the additional views of Oracle were removed and the account really trimmed down to the neccessary views we were able to reduce connection time down to 2-5 minutes. That is a drastic improvement from the 30+ minutes I experienced prior. So my advice to anyone having connection issues in bartender, look at where bartender is collecting the data and do what can be done to reduce the data to only that which is neccessary.
