Printer Code Template Generation, Without The Need For Pct Fields Follow
Presently in Bartender, to make use of the Export Printer Code Template feature of the Automation Edition you need to use the Printer Code Template Field type when designing the label. The drawback to this is that you MUST ensure that you spell the template field correctly, and specify example data correctly.
On the flip side, when designing a label using a database, which allows you specify a datasource, you are presented with a list of available fields and example data. Having a list of available fields and example data makes designing the label very easy and convenient.
I have been able to design a label using a datasource, and then create a template using the Export Printer Code Template feature of the Automation Edition. However, this approach only works for simple labels.
It would be great if you could design a label using database fields, which makes it easy to select from the available list of fields, and then use the Export Printer Code Template feature, and have it work perfectly each time.
For example, I could generate a csv file containing the entire list of fields that I have available for PCT substitution in a label, and I can even put example data in this csv file. When designing the label I can then reference this csv file via the database mechanism and use it to design my label. Creating a template using the Export Printer Code Template feature would just be awesome :D .
Are there any chances of having this included in a future release of Bartender?
