Error Accessing Bt-Wps Follow

Legacy Poster

I have a new install of BarTender 10.0 SR3 on Windows 2008 R2.  When trying to access the shortcut to the created website, I get the following error:

BarTender Web Print Server is unable to run. There are several possible reasons:

1. BarTender has not been installed on the web server.
2. BarTender’s trial period has expired.
3. BarTender has not been activated (Requires Enterprise Automation edition).
4. BarTender's Security Center settings prevent BarTender from running.

The event logs show the following:

BarTender is installed.  The trial period has not expired, as the installation has been activated.  We are running the Enterprise Automation edition.

When I try to open the Security Center, I see SecurityCenter.exe & 2 instances of dllhost.exe open in the task manager, and they disappear a few seconds later.  No application opens that I am aware of.

The IIS_WEBPRINT user appears to have successfully created.

I've given full permissions to all users to the C:\inetpub\wwwroot\BT-WPS directory, with the same resultant error message.

I've tried completely uninstalling BarTender, and reinstalling to no avail.

Any ideas on what I need to do to get this working?

Best regards,

Greg G

Is the BarTender client on the same machine able to communicate with the Seagull License Server ? (In the BarTender client, Administer->Licensing Setup->Test Button on the right hand side)

Does the WPS_AppPool have "Enable 32-Bit Applications" set to True ? (Within IIS under Application Pools)

These would be the first things I would look at, if neither of these options work to resolve the issue I would recommend giving Tech Support in your region a call for further assistance with the issue.
