Hi, I need to change the serializeBy property of a substring, I mean I have a Text with the text "a001" and I want to serialize it with a programatic step, how can I access this property with the .Net SDK.

BT v10.1 now supports setting the "Serialize by" value via a database field or a named data source. Named data source values can be assigned via the .NET SDK by using the SubString.Value property.

of course we can use the Substring.Value property, but I think is not comprehensible why you let out the advanced properties off the .Net Sdk.

Imagine my problem, I have a label document and need to change programatically the serialize value, to make labels of ten units or labels of twenty units, so I need to change the "serialize by" property, I suppose is a problem many developers will face because serialize is one of the common tasks with labels.

anyway thanks for your fast response.

Just to clarify:

What my colleague meant is that, although you cannot access the "serialize by" property through .NET SDKs, you can instead relate it with a separate named data source (feature added in v10.1). Your code would only need to modify this second named data source which will in turn modify the actual "serialize by" property of the original serialized data source.

deeply sorry by the misunderstood, but I have BT 10.0 so I didn't see that option and so I didn't understand what your colleague meant.
