For now, try to troubleshoot the problem directly on the BarTender side, not via your .NET SDK application. When you directly print from BarTender, what happens when you try to print and it fails? Does BarTender crash?

To which printer make and model are you printing to? What printer driver (and version) have you installed for the printer? Do you've any other Seagull drivers installed on this PC? If yes, are they of the same version?

In BarTender, via the "Administer > Licensing Setup" dialog, make sure that BarTender can detect Seagull License Server on the network (rather than doing an automatic search, you could try entering the computer name or IP address instead).

Did you try re-registering bartend.exe via a command line dialog as per the error message suggestion?

    Hi
I have bartender Automation license 3 printers version 10.0. License server is
installed on the server. Other users and I have no problem with running
    Bartender software and printing.

Problem is when I run any SDK, answer is as top, “Engine cannot start”. I did not have
any problem about a month ago but now I cannot run any written .net program.
Other programmers in our office don’t have problem but only me! I checked all computer
security levels, full access everything, but still when i use : “btapp = New BarTender.Application” , I can see bartend.exe comes
in processes in Windows task manager and disapear after 1 second, program takes
20 seconds and returns error: “ex.Message = "Retrieving the COM class
factory for component with CLSID {B9425246-4131-11D2-BE48-004005A04EDF} failed
due to the following error: 80040154."

    Please help me  :(

My COmputer: Windows 7 32 bits professional

Also I tried bartend.exe / register, then i uninsall, installed it. i uninstalled and installed version 10.1, un install and install version 10.0 again .... still same problem :(

    Kasram,

Are you running the latest service release for BarTender v10.0, which is SR4?

If you log on the same PC with a different user account, do you have the same issue?

Can you run any of the .NET SDK samples we provide with BarTender and which you can find under "Start > All Programs > BarTender v10.0 > BarTender .NET SDKs"?

Perhaps try to remove BarTender by using Microsoft Install / Uninstall and then reinstall it again to see if this helps:

    welcome

i have bartender 10.0 it is work correct on visual studio and print label correctly, but on is it is not working

    any solution for this problem

    the Error is:

The BarTender engine could not be started. Possible reasons are: 1) BarTender is not properly installed. 2) BarTender is not properly registered on the computer (e.g bartend.exe /register). 3) There are too many process instances of BarTender running. Stop a few bartend.exe instances and try again. Also see SDK Engine.Start method documentation for information about how to allow more BarTender processes to run on your computer by increasing your "non-interactive" shared desktop heap. 4) The user account does not have permission to run BarTender.

Let me know how it goes once you try to start the BarTender processes under a different account.
