    Hi,

Install Adobe Acrobat Pro 11 or similar PDF edit software to your system that prints to PDF file. Then Open the .BTW file in Bartender and Print, select "Print to PDF" under Printer selection. This prints to a PDF file.

    Thanks,

    Shanmugam

Yes a PDF printer driver can be used, of which there are many available on the internet, or you can export as an image (including PDF) via the "File>Export Image" menu item.

Thanks so much for your help.

I have tried a number of PDF printer drivers and they keep messing up the settings for my printer, or they don't show the fonts correctly or the PDF is not showing the outline of the label.

Ian, when you say export as an image - do you mean in Bartender? I don't have an Export button under File. I have the basic version of Bartender though.

Has anyone used a printer driver that works well with Intermec printers and Bartender?

Does Adobe Acrobat Pro 11 show the fonts correctly?

Would love to hear everyones feedback.

    Cheers

    Larnie,

You could also just take a screenshot or print one label and scan it.

Use a PDF driver like PDFcreator.  In the BarTender Page setup dialogs there is an option to print the outline of the label.  Often you need to make sure the correct page size is set in the driver otherwise it creates the PDF into the corner of an A4/Letter size sheet.

Screenshots look blurry and the customer always complains about the image quality which is why we are looking at using a print driver.

Ian, if I setup the bartender document to print the outline of the label - won't that print the outline on the paper label with our Zebra printer - as well as show the label outline on the PDF file?

The label size change for each print job we do so it would be a nightmare if we had to manually reset the PDF printer driver and change the page setup in bartender to the actual label size for each job.

I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro 11  DC - is there a way to get the printer driver to detect the actual label size in bartender?

If anyone has had success with Adobe Acrobat Pro and printing the actual label size as a PDF...would love to know what settings you used as I have played around with this for days with no success.

    Cheers

Make sure you specify the appropriate quality setting for the driver, something better than web friendly perhaps.  Make sure font substitution is disabled in the driver settings.  With the print outline enabled for thermal, die cut labels. the printed result normally shows no noticeable outline on the edge of the label.  Unfortunately many of these PDF drivers are hard-wired to use standard Windows paper sizes by default, and ignore what the application is telling it.  Ultimately we cannot do much about that as the driver will behave how it wants to behave no matter what we try.  Until such time as we natively support the rendering of PDFs as a print job you'll need to make do with the best PDF driver you can find.

Hello, I have the Bartender Automation 10.0

Can it be exported in "Printer code template" in PCL format?

    Thank you

ccarlosrondon: The Printer Code Template feature only works with Seagull Scientific printer drivers as some of the functionality needed is in the printer driver itself, as opposed to BarTender specifically.
