The serial numbers we generate are created from three named data sources:
- Embedded Data type clock: Set to YYMM.
- A VB Script that that increments a text file upon print: ####
- Embedded data for a suffix, which rarely changes: @
For example a serial number generated today would be 16032514C. I am trying to create a GS1 Data Matrix barcode and I have entered the three named data sources to create the serial application identifier. When I did this I noticed that a new field appeared as a data source called Data Terminator (^1). I moved the data terminator to the last data source position.
Am I doing this correctly? And is the data terminator the check digit?
