Increase Printing Speed
Hi,i'm using Bartender Automation Enterprise with printer Zebra 105SL.
Here is my scenario.
I need to print label with a having designed template. The label has 18 fields and it gets the field data from MS Excel as database.The Excel file currently has over 5000 field data. Among the 18 fields,there are 3 fields which involves VB script,serialization and identical copies.
When i choose the data i want and start to print, it takes me about 25-30 seconds just to print one.Most of the cases are serialize label,i have to wait for 25-30 seconds again for the second label to be printed out.
Obviously,the progress would be considered very slow if i want to print 100 data and one data maybe need to print 3 identical label with serialise((100x3)x30sec = 2.5 hours)
So,I've been wondering if there is any adjustments that i can make in bartender to increase the printing speed or is there any ways to help solving this?

Firstly I can confirm the problem you are having is not normal. I would not expect printing to take so long.
1. What printer driver are you using? Are you using the latest v7.2.4 Seagull printer driver from our website or a driver from a different vendor?

2. As a test, export your Excel file to a CSV text file and have a copy of your label connect to the locally stored CSV file you just exported from Excel. You'll need to remove the original database connection, re-add the new datafile and then perhaps reconnect label objects to appropriate data fields. Does this make a difference in print time?

1.I'm using the printer drive that comes with printer, it's Window driver for ZDesigner 105SL(203dpi) printer.
Is there any differences between the Seagull printer driver with the current i use?
And actually, i am not printing original labels.I'm printing by using media card.Is it possibly got any relation effect with the printing time?
2.Yes,today i have tried the method of using csv file instead of Excel as my database.But,the printing time is still remain the same.
I have attached a sample label design here.

Without yet taking a look at your label format I would say the most likely cause is the printer driver you are using. It should be noted that not all printer drivers are created equal, and when it comes to using BarTender, if there is a Seagull printer driver for your printer model you should always be using the latest Seagull printer driver in order to achieve the most optimized printing results.

An additional optimization you can make is to switch the font used for your text object from Arial to using the Zebra Triumvirate printer based font instead. When the Seagull printer driver for this printer is installed and selected for this label, then this font option will be visible. This in itself will improve print speed a great deal. 0 -
