Printing non-serialised barcode numbers from single input text box
Hi,
We need to print replacement labels for units, subsequently the serial numbers will be known but will be in a random order/non sequential.
Is there a way to separate the numbers entered into a text input box and input each one into the barcode object and have them printed onto separate labels?
Thanks,
George

A simpler way would be to print each one after you have entered the details. You could set the Data Entry box for the Type to remember the last data so you do not need to re-enter that and set the serial number to data entered by barcode scanner (if you are using one to enter this).
Then on the File>Print>Options tab enable the Repeat Data Entry until cancelled option.
At print time, when you first start printing type in the type and then TAB to the serial number entry, scan or type in this and then press print, the label will print and the Data Entry screen will be displayed once again. If you dont need to change the type, TAB to the serial number field type/scan it in and press print, repeating the process until you are done at which case press Cancel to close the data entry screen

Peter Thane Thanks for the response and this will work ok in the interim.
Our production department sometimes need to print over a hundred at a time so this process might get tedious. My second route is to have them enter the numbers into a database and add a query prompt and serialise accordingly. Is there anyway of adding database writing to the label design? My managers concern is giving production users write access to folders. Any other suggestions on how this process could be more streamlined?
Thanks very much,
George

Also the 'type' doesn't let me select 'Remember value for next time' guessing its because its a query prompt. Any workarounds?

Sorry not sure what you mean by Database writing, you can connect the label to a database to read in data from it at print time, and dependent on what version of the software you have, there are ways to write out data into simple flat text file or to a proper database.
I am not sure why the remember value option is disabled unless you are using a database query prompt/filter in which case that option is on the configuration screen for that
