Increasing Max character limit for multiline text in a GS1 Data matrix

I currently have a GS1 data matrix barcode with multiple lines created and I am attempting to increase the max character limit for one of the lines. When I do it causes the rest of the lines to merge with each including the AI code. Is there a way to prevent this or fix it after the fact?

  Have you checked you are not exceeding the maximum number of characters for that type of AI?
