You are using Windows True Type fonts for the text objects and as the Zebra printer does not recognise these, BarTender automatically convert these fields in an image file and sends that down to the printer to print as a picture.

You would either need to download each True Type font you are using to the printer or else change the font to a font that is resident on the printer (Zebra Courier or Zebra Swiss Unicode or Zebra Triumvirate) and you will then be able to see the correct ZPL.

The image below shows the ZPL for an Arial and a Zebra Swiss Unicode text object. The former has been converted to a graphic and has been sent down with the download command preceding it (DGR:SSGFX000.GRF) and at the end of the command string the image is deleted from memory (  ^XA^IDR:SSGFX000.GRF^XZ).

The Unicode command is sent as a command to the printer to print a text object of a set size and a specific location of a selected font type with the data being Hello Portugal

I can't get my, "print to file" to generate the ZPL correctly when BarTender is picking up the text file to print through the PrintEngine Integration. Any suggestions on how to get it to generate the ZPL?

I believe the print to file option requires user input to the complete it and you wont be able to get this from the Integration.

Printing the labels will create the correct ZPL and send it to the printer, why do you need the ZPL created from an Integration?

Peter Thane We are receiving order shipping labels in ZPL format and we are creating labels on our side using BarTender. The labels that we create need to be printed along with the correct order shipping label. So we were trying to make sure everything was equal by converting the label on our side to ZPL and creating a process to send both at the same time to make sure they print in order for the end user.

As long as the name of the ZPL file is declared somehow in the BarTender label format (and made a Named Data Source), you could try adding an Action to your BarTender label that send the ZPL file to the print after it send that BarTender print job, so something like this:

NOTE: Use the insert variable button to add the name you have set for the ZPL file as shown in the %....% File Name command above
